IT/Computing Facilities
Institute of Information Technology (I I T) is well equipped with both hardware and software labs. Main Computer Laboratory is equipped with Pentium-III machines, Laser Printers, scanner, Plotter, Internet and email facilities. Internet facility is free for all students of the Institute through Local Area Network (LAN). LAN is managed under Windows NT, Linux and Novell Netware Servers.
Microprocessor Laboratory includes Motorola based trainers to understand the programming and interfacing. Microphone systems are installed in various Class Rooms for modern and improved teaching systems.
For software tools resources include programming languages:
JAVA, Assembly, C++, Object Oriented Programming OOP, Visual Programming, Visual BASIC, Visual J++, Visual C++, Oracle Developer/2000, Visual FoxPro, Lisp, Prolog, Pascal, FORTRAN, COBOL, and communication software of Internet, email and PCs link software. IIT also have research oriented software tools like MatLab, Mathematica, Electronic Workbench, Digital Signal Processing software and Wireless Communication designing software.
The hardware studies are supported by the laboratory sessions and electronic workshop. The general laboratories include:
Microprocessors, Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Communication Systems, Data Communication Networks, Digital Communication, Microwave Communication Devices, Optical Fiber Communications, Robotics, Internetworking Protocols, VLSI design, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Instrumentation with many other laboratories completing the experimental work.
Throughout the hardware course computer aided techniques are used to design and analyze electronic systems and this starts with the software engineering and electronic computer aided design
SEMINAR LIBRARY
The seminar library is located within the center of IIT building. It is based upon wide range of collection of books and research material related to various fields of Information Technology. During the academic year 1999-2000 about 500 latest books amounting to Rs. 200,000/= (approx) were purchased and added to the existing stock of books.
The seminar library hall is equipped with necessary furniture to provide reading environment for IIT students. Soon it will be air-conditioned. There is also facility of Students Lending Library which provides books lending service to students at the charge of Rs.100/= per annum.
It is expected that by the end of year 2000, the quantity of Information Technology books may be raised to about 5000 in the seminar library.
