Research
The research is a continuous process in this institution and it started since 1967. In 1970 first M Phil degree was awarded in the field of semiconductor devices. The first PhD degree was awarded in 1990 in the field of Computer Technology. Since then the research is being carried out actively by various teaching faculty members.
At present IIT has various research scholars registered in M Phil leading to the degree of Ph.D in Information Technology. The fields are

In the final year of every degree program students are offered research projects related to latest requirements of the market and international needs as their compulsory fulfillment of the degree. Experienced faculty members continuously supervise these projects for the period of two semesters. These projects involve software, hardware, multimedia techniques and telecommunications.
